1. About Pendine Live
Pendine Live is a free community and visitor information service providing a live view of Pendine Sands together with weather, tide, marine, environmental and other information relevant to Pendine and the surrounding area.

The service is intended to help residents and visitors see the beach, check general conditions and plan their day. Pendine Live is an independent service. Unless expressly stated otherwise, it is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of Carmarthenshire County Council, Natural Resources Wales, the RNLI, HM Coastguard, the Met Office or any other public authority or emergency service.

Information displayed by Pendine Live is provided for general information only.

2. Important Safety Disclaimer
The sea, coastline and beach are natural environments and conditions can change quickly and unpredictably.
Information displayed on Pendine Live must not be interpreted as confirmation that conditions are safe for swimming, bathing, surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, boating, fishing, walking, driving on the beach or participating in any other activity.

Pendine Live does not assess whether the sea, beach or weather conditions are safe for any particular person or activity.
A calm-looking sea or favourable weather display does not mean that the water is safe. Hazards can include, among other things, currents, rip currents, waves, swell, rapidly changing tides, submerged objects, cold water, poor visibility, pollution, offshore winds and sudden changes in weather.

You remain responsible for assessing conditions yourself, considering your own experience and ability, checking appropriate official information and following instructions or warnings issued by lifeguards, HM Coastguard, the RNLI, Natural Resources Wales, local authorities and other relevant bodies.

Never rely solely upon Pendine Live when making a decision affecting your personal safety or the safety of another person.
In an emergency at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

3. Weather, Tide, Sea & Environmental Data
Pendine Live combines information obtained from local equipment and third-party data providers.
This may include information concerning:

air temperature;
apparent or "feels like" temperature;
humidity;
atmospheric pressure;
rainfall;
wind speed, direction and gusts;
tide heights and times;
whether the tide is rising or falling;
wave height;
wave direction;
wave period;
sea temperature;
weather forecasts;
marine forecasts;
water-quality information; and
other environmental conditions.

Some information represents direct observations, while other information is generated from forecasts, computer models, calculations or interpolation.
Forecast information is inherently uncertain and should not be treated as a statement of fact.
Different data sources may also update at different times.

4. Live Camera
Images displayed by the Pendine Live camera are provided for general information and visual enjoyment. Despite being described as "live", camera images may be captured and refreshed periodically rather than being continuous real-time video.
There may therefore be a delay between actual conditions and the image displayed on the website.

Camera images can also be affected by darkness, rain, condensation, dirt, reflections, glare, equipment faults, communications failures or other circumstances. The camera image must not be used to determine whether the sea, beach, roads or any activity are safe.

5. No Professional Advice or Safety Recommendation
Nothing displayed by Pendine Live constitutes professional, meteorological, maritime, navigational, environmental, medical or safety advice. Ratings, indicators, descriptions or graphics relating to conditions — including terms such as Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor, Fishing Conditions, Swimming Conditions, Surf Conditions or Beach Conditions — are intended only as general information derived from available data. They are not safety ratings. In particular, an "Excellent", "Good" or similar rating does not mean or imply that Pendine Live recommends that it is safe to swim, enter the sea, surf, fish, launch a vessel or undertake any other activity.
Individual circumstances, ability, equipment and local conditions cannot be assessed by this website.

Users must make their own assessment and, where appropriate, consult official information and suitably qualified organisations.

6. Accuracy and Availability
We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and current information, but Pendine Live does not guarantee that information displayed on the website is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted or error-free. Data may occasionally be delayed, missing, incorrectly transmitted, incorrectly interpreted or unavailable.

Sensors, cameras, internet connections, APIs and third-party services may also fail or become temporarily unavailable.
The website may be modified, suspended or unavailable at any time without notice.

Where information is important to a decision — particularly one involving safety — you should verify it independently using an appropriate authoritative source.

7. Water Quality Information
Any bathing-water or water-quality information displayed on Pendine Live should be interpreted carefully. Annual bathing-water classifications represent longer-term assessments and do not necessarily describe water quality at the present moment.

Water quality can change because of rainfall, runoff, pollution incidents, discharges and other environmental factors.
Where current water quality is important, users should check the latest information and warnings published directly by Natural Resources Wales and other relevant authorities before entering the water.

Pendine Live does not independently test or certify bathing-water quality.

8. Third-Party Websites and Services
Pendine Live uses and may display information supplied by third parties. The ownership of third-party information remains with the respective provider where applicable and its use may be subject to that provider's terms, licence and copyright requirements.
Pendine Live does not control third-party services and cannot guarantee their continued availability, accuracy or completeness.
